APC & Waivers

The article processing charge is the only fee charged by Head and Neck Diseases Conflux. No submission fee, page charge, language editing fee, or colour figure charge is levied, and no other charge is made at any stage of the publication process.

• Submission fee None. No charge is made for submitting a manuscript, or for manuscripts that are not accepted.
• Page charges None. The length of an article does not affect the charge.
• Language editing fee None. Language editing is not charged as a separate fee.
• Colour figure charges None. No charge is made for colour figures.

Waivers and discounts are available to authors who would otherwise be unable to pay the article processing charge. A request may be made when the corresponding author or any co-author meets one of the criteria below; it is not necessary for every author of the manuscript to qualify.

• Low-income and lower-middle-income countries Authors from World Bank-designated low-income and lower-middle-income countries.
• Financial hardship Authors at institutions with limited research funding, or without institutional or grant support, may apply with supporting documentation.
• Editorial Board members Subject to editorial office approval.

When and how to apply. Fee-waiver requests are made at the time of submission: select the fee-waiver option in the online submission system, and email the editorial office at editorial@hndconflux.com with your manuscript ID and a short statement of which criterion you meet. If your circumstances change after submission, contact the editorial office to discuss your situation.

Head and Neck Diseases Conflux is published by Life Conflux Press Limited. The journal is funded from two sources:

• Article processing charges Payable by the authors, institutions, or funders of accepted articles — HKD 2,670 per article, as set out above.
• Publisher funding Support from Life Conflux Press Limited, which meets the peer review, editorial, production, hosting, and digital preservation costs that article processing charges do not cover.

Revenue from these sources funds the operation of the journal and does not influence editorial decisions.

All accepted articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) licence.

• Author copyright Authors retain full copyright of their published work.
• Free reuse Anyone may read, download, copy, distribute, and adapt the work for any purpose, including commercial use, provided proper attribution is given.
• Funder compliance CC BY 4.0 satisfies the open access licensing requirements of NIH, ERC, Wellcome Trust, Gates Foundation, UKRI, and most other major funders.
• Repository deposit Authors are encouraged to deposit the published version in institutional or disciplinary repositories. The CC BY licence permits unrestricted deposit.
